The debut solo exhibition for interdisciplinary artist Elle Jones, A Sweet Fix centers around tactile materials, the concept of traditional femininity & perfection, and the lack of understood identity that can be a result of relationship or gender-based trauma. The work was made in response to grooming culture and the infantilization of women as strategies of social control—mechanisms that attempt to preserve male-centered power by shrinking and softening female agency.
A Sweet Fix seeks to be the intrapersonal narrative of Jones’ experience and research and to act as a complement to What the Hands Remember's community-based approach.
