What the Hands Remember is a community-based curatorial project and programming series that explores complex expressions of identity and oppressive systems, delving into how societal structures, cultural narratives, and personal experiences shape perceptions of safety, autonomy, and vulnerability. Through tactile works of art, the exhibition examines a predatory societal structure as both a literal and metaphorical phenomenon, exploring systemic and structural forms of harm and the way humans cope with them or resist them through art. It aims to highlight the reclamation of agency by individuals and communities affected by predation on marginalized gender identities.
